Volunteering
Oxford Maths Festival, 11 May 2025
I was part of the group that ran the mathematical board games sessions for ages 5+ at the Oxford Maths Festival. I explained the rules City of Zombies, Set, NMBR9, Qwirkle and others to children and their parents and also joined in to help defeat Zombies by combining dice in the right way or achieve the maximum score by stacking number-shaped cutouts on top of each other.
Twinning Tutor at John Henry Newman Academy, January - June 2025
Exeter College is part of a local Oxford programme that twins Oxford colleges with local schools. As part of this programme, I volunteered to read with pupils aged 7-11 to improve their reading skills. Each week, I came to the school and had four or five different children read something to me from whichever book they were reading at the moment. It was fun to see and support these children in their learning process and I learned a lot about the Dog Man universe during that time.
